When you know, you know! Laura and Alvin met in Wisconsin while he was doing his residency there. They fell in love, he proposed, and when it was time for Alvin to move back to California, Laura and her daughter Olivia followed him. They knew that the three of them were meant to be, and as long as they were together, they were home. They couldn’t wait to start building a new life together in sunny California!
Their wedding was unforgettable! They both wrote beautiful personalized vows, and Alvin included some heartfelt words to Olivia letting her know she was like a daughter to him and that he would take care of her just as he would her mom. The three of them have already developed by best family chemistry together. It was so sweet to watch.
I enjoyed capturing every part of this wedding, especially the cultural aspect of Alvin's family. I really love that Laura and Alvin have found a great balance toward creating their own life together and still cherishing some of their own family traditions. In fact, this was actually their second wedding, as they had one in Wisconsin with many of her friends and family the week before. In this wedding, Laura wore a beautiful red dress and participated in the Tea Ceremony before the traditional wedding ceremony. It was really special and symbolic of the joining of their two families.
Their wedding was both elegant and classic – they truly focused on their love for each other and their love for family. They had an outdoor ceremony beneath a gazebo decorated with lovely greenery and red and white roses. I love how they used a few pops of red in just the right places – it looked amazing with all of the deep greenery and white lace.
Congratulations, Laura and Alvin (and sweet Olivia). It was truly an honor to capture your big day, and I wish you the very best!
