Every now and then, I set aside time for styled shoots that often take place at venues or locations I’m not as familiar with. For those who aren’t part of the photography world, styled shoots serve as a creative outlet for photographers to practice new techniques and further hone their craft. They’re also a great way to network with other vendors, experience new venues, and show off their unique talents. I enjoy posting styled shoots on my blog to showcase my photography style and give readers some wedding planning inspiration.
For this one, we visited Stinko’s in Las Vegas, an indoor space that is a unique venue/florist combo (hence the breathtaking flower arrangements). Some words that come to mind for this exceptional shoot: exotic, passionate, colorful, sophisticated. Breanna and Grayson—the bride and groom models—are a real couple, so they radiated genuine happiness and intimacy throughout. They were such a pleasure to photograph and work with!
The décor and design were flawless. Fun arrangements of brightly colored flowers of every shape and size filled the tables. I loved how the arrangements were encased in tall glass vases to provide some symmetry amid the diversity. For greenery, palm leaves added a lovely touch. Stinko’s has a bright, modern feel with lots of white space and natural light flowing in from huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The space serves as an elegant blank canvas to design the wedding of your dreams.
All of the accents and details really pulled the exotic look together. Blackberry cocktails and tempting teal-colored mixed drinks were served with bamboo straws! I’ve never seen anything like it—they were almost too pretty to drink. The cakes had gorgeous marbled icing paired with an emerald and gold geometric design—so classy and regal.
For some fun, funky images, the bridal party posed outside in front of a wall painted with colorful stripes. Breanna looked stunning standing in front of the white wall with climbing ivy. Needless to say, the shoot certainly did not have a shortage of color, texture, or backdrops. The photo opportunities were endless, and I had a blast with this creative team!
