I absolutely love everything about Sedona, so I jumped at the chance to take part in this styled shoot by Styled Shoots Across America and Alexie Events at Sky Ranch Lodge. I was thankful to have this beautiful couple to photograph and showcase their chemistry.
In Sedona, the sun can get a little strong, so I love that Alexie Events coordinated with the other vendors to bring in a few bolder, striking colors to create a contrast. The bright magenta and violet colors added an extra pop without overwhelming the look, whereas softer pastels would have been washed out in the bright light. The natural landscape has its own unsurpassed beauty. I am always mesmerized by the Sedona red rocks. As you look out on the horizon, the buttes jut into the bright blue sky with layers of red, orange, and green. With a backdrop like that, simple yet sophisticated accents work perfectly.
The oversized hoop wreath provided dimension and framed the bride and groom for the ceremony while still giving full view of the gorgeous landscape. To complement, the bride carried a mini version of the hoop for her bridal bouquet as well as matching florals on her sun hat and head wreath – everything was designed with the location and landscape in mind. And check out this intimate area among the trees for the most romantic first look! They are a truly beautiful couple, and I couldn’t get enough of their adoring interactions. A stunning marbled cake by Sedona Cake Couture hung suspended among the trees and Bubbles and Brews AZ provided the refreshments on the cutest mobile bar!
Inside the reception tent, shades of ruby red, dark violet and deep green combined with the dark wood of the table set a more romantic tone for a formal evening dinner celebration.
