Siblings, cousins, grandparents, uncles and aunts – for this lighthearted, fun-filled outdoor shoot, all three generations of the Villalobos family got together to make some memories. It was a gorgeous, sunny day out at Carbon Canyon Regional Park, and the leaves from the large overhanging trees blocked some of the intense light, turning it into the perfect glow for portraits.
I believe genuine relationships are what make the world go ‘round. Having people beside you to share life, conquer trials, and celebrate the triumphs is priceless. Those kinds of relationships inspire us and spark zeal for life. The great thing about family is that you don’t have to go searching for connections like that – family is the strong foundation that never disappears no matter the relocations, life changes, or new directions. Sure, families meet their fair share of disagreements and dry periods, but even in those times, they’re still family. They still care. Family is beautiful, and I always enjoy opportunities to capture those sweet connections and strong bonds.
This collection of family portraits contains a little bit of everything – the sweet moments between couples, the special moments between parents and almost-grown kids, and lots of silly, candid moments of the group just doing their thing. But no matter the mood or pose, this family constant showed off their genuine smiles and constant happiness found in spending quality time together. These moments are rare in our busy world, and I really enjoyed capturing all of the unique relationships between the different family members. And of course, it wouldn’t be a true family shoot without some craziness. The teenagers let loose and got silly towards the end. One of the girls even made an impromptu wreath of leaves. I was really impressed and loved using it as a creative prop for some of the individual shots with the girls. Needless to say, I had a great time with this awesome family! Much love!
