If you’re already the best of friends when love hits, transitioning into a committed relationship comes easily. Everything beautifully falls into place as the stars align. Aimy and Darian went to high school together and were just friends for many years. One day, they both realized there was a romantic spark, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
After the proposal, these two lovebirds wanted to announce their love (as if all of their friends and family didn’t already know they were meant to be), so they booked an engagement session with me. All kidding aside, doing an engagement session is not just for others. Even if you aren’t sending out announcements, an engagement session is a fun way to celebrate the next step and enjoy some quality time together. Oftentimes, engagement photos are the first professional portraits couples have together. You have to start somewhere, right?! That’s when a great photographer you feel comfortable with comes in handy!
We were able to schedule the engagement session at the perfect time because Darian had to leave the next week to continue med school in a different state. He would be away for the next three months, which made this session bittersweet. We explored the gorgeous Fullerton Panorama Trail and got some romantic shots around the fountain at the Summit House Restaurant – one of my favorite outdoor locations!
You can tell that these two have had a long friendship. They found a groove right away and looked so natural together. They were so good at naturally falling into lots of romantic poses and balancing the session out with some fun ones, too. At the end Darian had to do his signature pose, which he does everywhere he travels…and of course Aimy had to get in on the action as well! They’re too cute! I couldn’t be happier for this amazing couple. I know they’re counting down the days until they’re back together to tie the knot – what long-awaited celebration it will be!
Congratulations, Darian and Aimy! So much love to you both!
