Aimy and Darian started out as friends. Soon friendly outings turned into dates, and they couldn't imagine doing life with anyone else. They also couldn't imagine that a pandemic would cause so much planning heartache. When Covid hit and their first venue canceled, they postponed their date to a few months later and decided to rent a beautiful and spacious Airbnb. Then only a couple weeks before their new wedding date, the Airbnb canceled too. What were they to do? Aimy's parents' house was the solution, and it ended up being even more special and sentimental as that was the house she grew up in.
Aimy spent the morning getting ready for the big day in her mother's house surrounded by her bridesmaids while the groomsmen goofed around outside during a portrait session. Then it was time for the first look at a nearby trail. The moment Darian took a look at his beautiful bride, the happy tears could not be avoided. The ceremony brought out more of those tears of joy as Aimy and Darian said personal vows to each other that included feeling such joy to be able to actually have their wedding take place after all of the challenges. It was beautiful to see how the front lawn was transformed into the ceremony site with DIY features, such as the triangular wooden arch and wood decor built by Darian and the florals arranged by Aimy's sister-in-law. Once the I do’s were said, family and couple portraits were taken at the park across the street, and they quickly returned to enjoy their backyard reception. It was beautifully decorated with Darian's wood work enhanced by candles, sheer curtains, string lights, and a dessert table. Once the sun went down, guests enjoyed a view of the city lights outside while eating delicious food from the taco caterer and specialty ice cream.
Aimy and Darian couldn't have handled a wedding during the coronavirus pandemic in a more gracious way. They didn't let anything stand in the way of celebrating their love.
